Guided Tours + Art Workshops

Cost: $200 standard/$100 reduced
Tour length: 2 hours (1-hour tour + 1 hour art workshop)

Guided tours and art workshops are inquiry-based experiences for K–12 students led by trained docents and teaching artists. Tours are aligned with Washington state education standards and can be tailored to specific curriculum needs.

Do-It-Yourself: Self-Guided Visits

Cost: Picasso tour $75 standard/$38 reduced . All others $40 standard/$20 reduced
Tour Length: Set your own pace

Do-It-Yourself: Self-Guided Visits allow educators to customize their museum experiences by leading their own tours through the galleries. We recommend that teachers divide their classes into small, chaperone-led groups of 5–10 students depending on their age. Contact the tour coordinator for a free educator pass to visit the galleries in advance of your class's visit.

Art Goes to School Multi-Session Program

Cost: $125 standard/$63 reduced
Designed as either a pre-visit experience or as a stand-alone art experience in your classroom, Art Goes to School engages students in conversations about art and culture. Led by teaching artists, Art Goes to School is interdisciplinary and works well in a wide range of classroom settings. For the 2010–2011 school year students will look critically at some of Picasso’s most acclaimed work, responding through discussion, writing and art making activities. Open to K–12 students in King County only. Open to K–12 students in King County.

Schools with 40 percent or more students on a subsidized lunch program qualify for half-price school tours and partial school bus reimbursement. Support for discounted tours and buses provided by the Seattle Art Museum Supporters (SAMS).
